Oh no shit, this is my first time abdicating an entire entry in my blog to review a movie. Well, I really do enjoy watching movies, especially good ones, so I guess my opinion is kinda not bias and all. However, this is solely my humble opinion- not affected by any other parties, condoning me or condemning me. So, if you wanna say otherwise, by all mean, do.
First, let me get you this straight. IT is a novel, written by Stephen King, on 1986. I dont read, hence I dont read the book. But I have the book. Haha funny enough. I dont read the book so I dont know how the movie should be portrayed as Stephen King wants. And IT once became a movie, and it gave big impact on how scary a clown can be up until today. So I guess King really made this one a big one. So yeah, this IT 2017 is basically a remake of a 1990 movie, but wayyyyyyy better.
SPOILER ALERT!
So basically this movie is about a small town in States called Darry. The time set for this movie is still old, hence it will take us back through times. So in this Darry town, kids have gone missing one after another, nowhere to be found. This includes the little charming Georgie (you might seen this kid from the trailer, the one who plays with the boat and hit himself blabla). His older brother, Billy somehow feel guilty towards his brother's disappearing and made up his mind to find him, one way or another. He and his bunch of friends- Richie, Ben, Eddie, Stanley, Mike and the only female in the group, Beverly, called themselves a bunch of 'Loser'. Yeah they name themselves that. And in this town, there is another group of student, the older gang, the bullies led by Henry Bowers. Ben, the new kid who used to spend most of his time in Library pulled out archives regarding Darry, long long time ago- up until the first time Darry was found. And every 27 years, there must be something wierd keep going around- fire at a club, factory, home blabla. I cant remember and theyre not yet in the Wiki so.... Then one day, they finally come to sense that all this incidents and missing cases are all connected through the sewers. And believe that the entity live in the sewer.
The entity can take any form that he likes. Mostly as clown, but he will change into something you fear the most. So different kid they have different fears, hence they have to deal with different 'thing'. Thats why they called it 'IT'. Why cant they get cuter name like Faizal or Tompok, or Justin...? *sigh.
So thats about it, what the story is all about. Of course there is more, but heyy not every one like a spoiler, so if you wanna know more, you can either watch this movie or ask me personally.
REVIEW TIME!
The kids are so WONDERFUL! Starts with the little Georgie (even though he died very fast), he is such a sweetheart! and those bunch of 'Losers' as well, you can feel as if theyve known each other for their entire life. They always crack the lines that arent suppose to be funny but turns out to be funny, mocking each other happily, mocking each other's mom and all those shit. And boy they (Richie) really love the word 'fuck' and 'dick' and anything associated. You know, they portrayed how it is in real life, how my friends and I would say to each other- that kind of stuff. You will laugh, in this movie, you will.
But that doesnt mean you wont shit your pant and pee on the sit either. When the scary part comes, you will jump around and throw your popcorn away. Your soul might leave your body as well. The clown's attire, the expressions, the fullface makeup, EVERYTHING IS SO LIT! Especially when he open his mouth.. You will take everything you can grab to cover both your ears and eyes, that kind of scary. But every scary scene, they are not that long. So before long, it ends. And you feel happy again with the funny scenes and all. Then come the scary part again. Its like that...
I really like the way they managed to balance between funny and scary in this movie. It is one of a kind, because hardly we see a funny horror movie. Usually they stick to one genre and make the most out of it. This one, it just play along smoothly..
I dont really wait until the post credit because its already late and I have to catch my Grab. Not to mention I have classes tomorrow. So I dont know if theyre any trailer or sneak peek for the sequels, but I can assure you, they do have second movie for this! This is only Chapter One! OMG IM SO EXCITED!!
So that is my review for IT so far.. I dont know if I watched it again and again, my opinion might be different, but so far, I REALLY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS TO WATCH IT! get it? watch IT! The plot twist if this movie still cannot beat The Conjuring 2's plot twist, but this has become my favourite horror movie ever!
